Does that picture of a shark swimming through a flooded downtown city look suspicious to you? Now you can check it out using a "fact check"feature on Google Images.
When users search for images using the search engine they may see a "fact check" label on certain images. Clicking that lable will take users to a page with a summary of the fact check for th page the image comes from The labels might be connected to a fact check on the article that features the image, or the image itself, the company said.
Google's fact check feature uses independent sources to review some search results. It offers a similar feature for YouTube videos and Google News search. Google said the fact checks will not affect ranking or where an image appears in search results.
