"Inoculating" Readers Can Prevent the Spread of Misinformation

Researchers have found a successful new technique in the fight against misinformation: "pre-bunking" false narratives by showing consumers the tactics and tricks used to spread falsehoods online.

A study conducted by Google, the University of Cambridge and the University of Bristol found that showing videos about the tactics behind misinformation made people more skeptical when reading  or viewing misinformation later,  according to an academic paper published in the journal Science Advances.
